There are many problems with criticism, but the two that strikingly come to mind are the inability to ask questions and the equivocation of the personal.
Briefly briefly - whether you write with the assumption that you are speaking on behalf of an audience or if you are speaking for yourself. Clearly this is a continuum, but there are fissures even in the metric.
Oh and Post is a fantastic word and there could be a lot said about the trade of semiology in it.
